About XYNOVA 2% INJECTION
XYNOVA 2% INJECTION is indicated for the production of regional or local anaesthesia during surgery or medical procedures. Additionally, it is indicated in the management of ventricular arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat) associated with acute myocardial infarction or cardiac surgery.
XYNOVA 2% INJECTION contains Lidocaine, which works by preventing initiation and conduction of impulses; hence providing an anaesthetic effect. XYNOVA 2% INJECTION blocks cardiac sodium channels, thereby treating arrhythmia.
In some cases, you may experience side effects such as dizziness, high/low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and paresthesia (burning or prickling sensation). You are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take XYNOVA 2% INJECTION if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any interactions/side effects.

XYNOVA 2% INJECTION blocks the influx (entry) of sodium ions into the membrane that surrounds the nerves, thereby preventing initiation and conduction of impulses and hence providing an anaesthetic effect. XYNOVA 2% INJECTION blocks cardiac sodium channels, thereby treating arrhythmia.
XYNOVA 2% INJECTION may cause hypotension (low blood pressure) or hypertension (high blood pressure). Therefore, regular monitoring of blood pressure is advised whilst on treatment with XYNOVA 2% INJECTION.
Nausea and vomiting might be side effects of XYNOVA 2% INJECTION. It is not necessary for everyone taking XYNOVA 2% INJECTION to experience these side effects. However, if the condition persists or worsens, please consult a doctor.
XYNOVA 2% INJECTION might increase creatinine phosphokinase levels. Therefore, if you are undergoing any tests, inform the person doing the tests that you have taken XYNOVA 2% INJECTION.
