About Zimivir 1000 Tablet

Zimivir 1000 Tablet is used to treat viral infections. It plays a vital role in treating cold sores (an inflamed blister in or near the mouth caused by infection with the herpes simplex virus), genital herpes (a common sexually transmitted infection marked by genital pain and sores), and herpes zoster (a viral infection that causes a painful rash).

Zimivir 1000 Tablet contains valacyclovir, which works by preventing the multiplication of viruses in human cells, stopping the proliferation of viruses and producing new viruses.

Sometimes, you may experience side effects like headaches, dizziness, feeling sick (nausea or vomiting), diarrhoea, and skin that is sensitive to sunlight. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not give Zimivir 1000 Tablet if you are allergic to Zimivir 1000 Tablet, valacyclovir, or any of its ingredients. If you accidentally take excess of Zimivir 1000 Tablet, contact your doctor or go to a nearby hospital immediately. The symptoms of Zimivir 1000 Tablet overdose include confusion, feeling sick (nausea), vomiting, hallucinations, agitation, decreased consciousness, and coma.
Your doctor will recommend a low dose of Zimivir 1000 Tablet since you are elderly and have a kidney problem. During the day, you must drink plenty of water regularly while taking Zimivir 1000 Tablet to reduce the side effects which can affect the kidney or nervous system. Your doctor will closely monitor you for signs of any side effects such as feeling confused, agitated or unusually sleepy, or drowsy. If you experience any of these effects, contact your doctor immediately.
