About ALA-12 Softgel Capsule

ALA-12 Softgel Capsule is used to treat diabetic polyneuropathy. Diabetic polyneuropathy is a type of nerve damage that can occur if you have diabetes. High blood sugar (glucose) can injure nerves throughout your body. Diabetic neuropathy most often damages nerves in your legs and feet.

ALA-12 Softgel Capsule contains the active ingredient of alpha-lipoic acid. Alpha-lipoic acid is a free-radical scavenger that catches damaging oxygen radicals both in aqueous and lipid-soluble cell environments, thereby counteracting the sensory disorders of diabetic polyneuropathy.

Take ALA-12 Softgel Capsule as recommended it. Sometimes, you may experience certain common side effects such as dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, headache and upset stomach. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take ALA-12 Softgel Capsule if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless recommended by the doctor. ALA-12 Softgel Capsule may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if alert. Although there is a possible interaction between ALA-12 Softgel Capsule and Carbamazepine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if your condition changes or you experience loss of seizure control, contact your doctor.

Although taking Cholestyramine and ALA-12 Softgel Capsule together can result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
