Alfa-Maxical Capsule 10's

Alfa-Maxical Capsule is a multivitamin and mineral supplement that aids in the growth and development of the body. It treats nutritional deficiencies caused due to poor intake of nutrients from food or other illnesses. It contains Alfacalcidol, Calcium carbonate, Mecobalamin (Vitamin B12), Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), Folic acid, and Boron. It is used to strengthen bones and ensures calcium absorption in the body. It is used in vitamin D deficiency, low calcium levels (hypocalcemia), rickets, osteomalacia, and osteodystrophy.

• Alfacalcidol is an analogue of Vitamin D. It is converted into the active form of vitamin D3 (calcitriol) after intake and works by strengthening the bones by increasing the calcium and phosphate levels in the blood. It is used in conditions like vitamin D deficiency, renal osteodystrophy, hyperparathyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, hypocalcaemia, and rickets or osteomalacia.
• Calcium is a mineral and prevents or treats calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients for bone formation and maintenance. It helps to maintain bone and tooth health.
• Methylcobalamin/Mecobalamin treats hyperhomocysteinemia (high levels of homocysteine in the blood) and regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis.
• Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are omega fatty acids that control cholesterol levels and thus improve cardiovascular health. They act as an energy source and help in the better functioning of vital organs like the brain, heart, and lungs in the body. They also reduce the risk of heart diseases by lowering triglycerides and raising good cholesterol levels.
• Folic acid helps form red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer.
• Boron is essential in building strong bones and muscles. It is a trace mineral that improves bone formation and brain function.

Take medicine in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Please do not take more than the daily recommended dosage. Swallow the tablet/capsule as a whole with a glass of water, preferably with meals or as directed by the physician. Do not try to break/crush/chew the tablet.

Side effects

Use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Sometimes, you may experience common side effects like:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea

These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these symptoms persist or worsen, please consult your doctor promptly.

Before starting the medication, let your doctor know if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems and other pre-existing medical conditions. If you experience any unusual symptoms or allergic reactions whilst taking medicine, please discontinue the use and consult your doctor immediately. Let your doctor know if you have any surgery scheduled before starting the medication. Inform your doctor in advance if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding before starting the medication. If you feel dizzy/sleepy while using this medicine, it is advised to avoid driving and operating machinery until you feel better. Limit or avoid alcohol intake while using this medicine to minimize interactions and occurrence of side effects. Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets. Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and heat.
