Biofer XT Syrup is used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food, or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). It contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid, which work by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs is produced in the body, so that each tissue in the body gets a sufficient supply of oxygen. In some cases, it may cause side effects such as vomiting, nausea, stomach upset, or constipation. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Biofer XT Syrup
Biofer XT Syrup belongs to a class of medications called haematinics. They are primarily used to treat anaemia (a condition in which the body lacks sufficient healthy red blood cells), which may occur due to a poor diet, poor nutrient absorption, or increased nutritional needs (such as during pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various body tissues.
Biofer XT Syrup is a combination of two components: ferrous ascorbate (a source of iron) and folic acid (a form of vitamin B9). It works by increasing the production of red blood cells (RBCs) and haemoglobin (a protein in RBCs that carries oxygen) in the body. As a result, more RBCs are available to deliver sufficient oxygen to all body tissues.
Take Biofer XT Syrup as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, constipation, or pyrosis (heartburn). Most of these side effects of Biofer XT Syrup are mild and typically resolve over time without the need for medical attention. However, if they persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Biofer XT Syrup is contraindicated in patients allergic to its ingredients and those with iron overload disorders or non–iron-deficiency anemia. Use caution in individuals with gastrointestinal conditions, such as ulcers or colitis, as iron may exacerbate these issues. Avoid use in young children without doctor advice. Folic acid can mask vitamin B12 deficiency, delaying diagnosis. Patients with liver or kidney impairment should consult a doctor before use. Always follow medical advice and suggested doses.
