About Cal-D3 Suspension

Cal-D3 Suspension is used to treat calcium and vitamin D deficiency and associated conditions like osteoporosis, hypoparathyroidism (low levels of parathyroid hormone), and latent tetany (a muscle disease with low blood calcium levels).

Cal-D3 Suspension consists of elemental calcium and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), which help maintain blood calcium and phosphorus levels and support bone mineralisation.

Sometimes, it may cause side effects like constipation and stomach upset. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time.

Do not take Cal-D3 Suspension if you're allergic to any ingredient in it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking Cal-D3 Suspension . Do not use Cal-D3 Suspension if you have kidney problems or stones, or if your vitamin D level is high.

FAQs

Cal-D3 Suspension is primarily used to treat nutritional deficiencies. It effectively treats various conditions caused by low calcium levels in the body, like Vitamin D deficiency.

Cal-D3 Suspension consists of two vitamins: elemental calcium and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Elemental calcium is a mineral that is used to prevent or treat a calcium deficiency. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation. Vitamin D3 is a steroid hormone produced in the skin when exposed to ultraviolet light or obtained from food sources. It helps maintain blood calcium and phosphorus levels and the mineralization of bone.

Antacids may increase the absorption of Calcium from Cal-D3 Suspension . Hence it is advised to take Cal-D3 Suspension two hours before or four hours after taking antacids.

Cal-D3 Suspension is used to increase low levels of calcium in the body. Hence it is not advised to use Cal-D3 Suspension during hypercalcaemia since it causes the overdose of calcium leading to kidney stones and other effects.

Cal-D3 Suspension can cause kidney stones due to excess calcium deposition when used for a prolonged period. Please consult your doctor before taking Cal-D3 Suspension as a daily supplement if you have any kidney problems or a history of kidney stones.

Milk is considered to be the best source of calcium. You can take Cal-D3 Suspension with milk.
