Edel Mouth Wash

Edel Mouth Wash belongs to a group of medicines known as 'pain killers' primarily used to relieve pain, discomfort, and inflammation of the mouth, gums, and throat. It is used to treat oral mucositis (inflammation due to radiotherapy or chemotherapy), and mouth sores.

Edel Mouth Wash contains Benzydamine, which relieves pain and discomfort. It works by blocking the release of chemicals (prostaglandins) that mediate pain sensation and inflammation. It also forms a coating over the sores, thereby providing relief from pain, discomfort, and symptoms of inflammation, such as redness, swelling, or a burning sensation, associated with mouth ulcers. Hence, it helps with daily activities.

In some cases, you may experience common side effects, such as a burning sensation and skin irritation at the site of application. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take Edel Mouth Wash if you are allergic to Edel Mouth Wash, its ingredients, pain killers (NSAIDs), or local anaesthetics. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you notice any skin rash or experience asthma, it could be due to an allergic reaction. Do not use the Edel Mouth Wash mouthwash continuously for more than 7 days unless recommended by your doctor or dentist. It is not recommended for use in children.

Edel Mouth Wash is used for treating pain and inflammation (mouth, throat, and gums), Oral Mucositis, and Mouth Sores. The detailed use of Edel Mouth Wash is as follows:

• Oromucosal relief: Edel Mouth Wash helps relieve sore throat, mouth ulcers, gum inflammation, post-dental-surgery pain, and radiation-induced mucositis.

• Edel Mouth Wash is for topical oral use only.
• It is recommended to use Edel Mouth Wash every 1-3 hours or as directed by your doctor.
• Check the label for directions before using Edel Mouth Wash.
• Pour 15ml of Edel Mouth Wash into the measuring cup provided with the pack. Rinse or gargle the mouthwash for 20 to 30 seconds, then spit it out.
• Do not swallow the mouthwash.
• After use, rinse the measuring cup and store it safely for your next dose.

• Drink a small amount of water at regular intervals to avoid dry mouth.
• Preferably eat sugar-free chewing gum to keep the mouth and throat moist.
• Stop wearing your dentures if you have sores in the mouth or gums.
