Coughing (dry or productive) is the body's way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus, or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs: Dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn't produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.

AMBROXOL+CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE is a combination of four drugs, namely: Ambroxol (mucolytic agent), Chlorpheniramine maleate (antihistamine), Guaifenesin (expectorant), and Phenylephrine (decongestant). Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nasal passage. Chlorpheniramine maleate works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. Guaifenesin works by reducing the stickiness of mucus and helps to remove it from the airways. Phenylephrine works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. It provides relief from the chest and nasal congestion, thereby decreasing mucus production.

Take AMBROXOL+CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE as prescribed. You are advised to take AMBROXOL+CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your medical condition. AMBROXOL+CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE may cause common side effects such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting or stomach upset. Most of these side effects of AMBROXOL+CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE+GUAIFENESIN+PHENYLEPHRINE do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
