GARENOXACIN belongs to the quinolone antibiotic class that is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is a highly effective antibiotic that works against a variety of bacteria. GARENOXACIN is used in various bacterial infections, most importantly, respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, pneumonia, and bronchitis.
GARENOXACIN contains garenoxacin, it works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
The dose of GARENOXACIN can vary depending upon your condition and the severity of the infection. It is also recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better and leave it in between may lead to even severe infection that will stop responding to the antibiotic (antibiotic resistance). In rare cases, side effects of GARENOXACIN include vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, increased hunger, dizziness and fainting. Most of these side effects of GARENOXACIN do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.
Before starting GARENOXACIN, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic) if you have kidney or liver problems, seizure disorder. Do not take GARENOXACIN on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. GARENOXACIN may not be safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Speak with your doctor for information regarding this.
