HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE contains Haemophilus B conjugate along with other excipients. It mainly works by generating antibodies against the Hib polysaccharide, which the body recognises as a foreign substance, and initiating an immune response against it.
HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE may cause certain common side effects such as irritability, lethargy, decreased activity, pain, redness, and soreness at the site of injection. Most of these side effects will last for only a few days and resolve by themselves. HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE will be administered by a trained healthcare paediatrician in the hospital.
Inform the doctor if your child has developed any allergic reaction to the previous dose received, has a known pre-existing allergy to any of the contents of HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE or has had a severe allergic reaction following a previous dose of HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE. Let your doctor know about your child's detailed medical history, including any chronic disease, neurological disease, HIV, or severe illness. It is important to inform the doctor of your child’s vaccination history.

HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE is a conjugate vaccine that contains 'Haemophilus B conjugate, which is used to prevent any invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type B. Avoid receiving HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE if your child has any known hypersensitivity or anaphylactic reaction (shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, anxiety, confusion, or fever are some symptoms) to a previous dose of HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE or any of its components. HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE may cause Guillain-Barre syndrome, altered immunocompetence, and severe allergic reactions in some children. Hence, children should be observed carefully after receiving the vaccine. This medicine is not intended for use in children above 6 years of age, adults, or pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. It is advisable not to use HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE in conjunction with anticoagulant therapy and/or steroids and, if prescribed, should be used with caution. Inform the doctor right away about any medications that your child is currently taking and about any previous vaccination and medical history.
Drug-Drug Interaction: HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE may interact with immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, tacrolimus), and a drug used for multiple sclerosis (siponimod).

Drug-Disease Interaction: HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE should not be used in case of a previous severe allergic reaction to HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE or any of its components. HAEMOPHILUS B CONJUGATE VACCINE should be used with caution in patients suffering from a latex allergy.
