INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) belongs to the group of medications called ‘immunising agents’ used to prevent influenza or flu in children and adolescents aged 24 months to less than 18 years. Influenza is a viral infection caused by the influenza virus.
INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) contains Influenza made from a live, weakened or attenuated influenza virus. It helps the body to develop immunity by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies.
In some cases, INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) may cause side effects such as a runny or stuffy nose, decreased appetite, and weakness. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. However, consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any of the components in INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED). INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) is not recommended in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications to rule out any interactions/side effects.
Prevention of influenza

Do not take INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) if you are allergic to it, have a blood disorder or cancer that affects the immune system, if you have a weak immune system or are already taking aspirin. Inform your doctor if you have severe asthma or if you are in contact with a person with a severely weakened immune system. INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children below 24 months due to the risk of side effects.
Drug-Drug Interactions: INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) may interact with a pain killer (aspirin/acetylsalicylic acid) and antiviral medications (oseltamivir, zanamivir).
Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have a blood disorder or cancer that affects the immune system, a weak immune system, or severe asthma.
It is unknown if alcohol interacts with INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED). Discuss with your doctor for more information.
INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) is not recommended for use in pregnancy.
INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) is not recommended for breastfeeding women.
INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) has negligible or no influence on the ability to drive.
If you have a history of liver disease, inform your doctor before taking INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED).
If you have a history of kidney disease, inform your doctor before taking INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED).
INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) is safe for children above 24 months. INFLUENZA (LIVE ATTENUATED) is not recommended for children below 24 months due to the risk of side effects.
