When the ear glands produce more earwax than necessary, it gets hard and blocks the ear. This condition can lead to ear pain, itching, ringing in the ears, dizziness or loss of hearing. It occurs due to frequent use of earphones, cotton swabs or use of other objects that push earwax deeper, causing a blockage in the ear. Unremoved ear wax can lead to infections. Signs of impacted earwax include ear pain, feeling of fullness in the ear, tinnitus (ringing/buzzing sound in the ear) and partial hearing loss.
