PARNAPARIN belongs to the group of medicines called antithrombotics used to treat deep vein thrombosis in general and orthopaedic surgery. Deep vein thrombosis occurs when a blood clot is formed in deep veins, generally in the legs.
PARNAPARIN contains Parnaparin, which works by preventing the formation of harmful blood clots. Thereby, it helps treat deep vein thrombosis.
PARNAPARIN will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, PARNAPARIN may cause injection site reactions and bleeding tendencies. You are advised to talk to the doctor if you experience any side effects.

Deep vein thrombosis

PARNAPARIN contains Parnaparin, a low molecular weight heparin that works by preventing the formation of harmful blood clots. PARNAPARIN is indicated in the treatment of venous disorders of thrombotic aetiology.
Do not use PARNAPARIN if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if you have peptic ulcers, retinopathy, hemorrhagic syndrome, acute bacterial endocarditis, haemorrhagic cerebrovascular accidents, severe nephropathy, pancreatic problems, severe arterial hypertension, liver or kidney problems, or if you have had brain or spinal cord surgery. PARNAPARIN is not advisable for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform the doctor if you take medicines such as painkillers, platelet aggregation inhibitors (ticlopidine), anti-platelet agents (dipyridamole, sulphinpyrazone), anti-coagulant or glucocorticoids.
