RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE is indicated in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels.
RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE contains Reserpine and Dihydralazine. It works by relaxing and dilating the blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.
In some cases, RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE may cause side effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and loss of appetite. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Do not take RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Keep the doctor informed about your health condition and medications to avoid unpleasant side effects/interactions.
RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE belongs to the class of rauwolfia alkaloids, centrally acting antiadrenergic agents used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains Reserpine and Dihydralazine. Reserpine works by slowing the nervous system's activity, causing the heartbeat to slow and the blood vessels to relax. Dihydralazine relaxes the muscles in the blood vessels to help them dilate (widen). This lowers blood pressure and allows blood to flow more easily. Together, RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE helps treat high blood pressure.
Do not take RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if you have/had depression, suicidal thoughts, stomach ulcer, ulcerative colitis, gall stones, liver or kidney problems, stomach problems or slow digestion, heart problems, stroke, or systemic lupus erythematosus (an inflammatory disease). Consult the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Let the doctor know if you take other medicines, including supplements or herbal products.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform the doctor if you are taking sedatives (zolpidem), benzodiazepines (clonazepam, alprazolam), alkylating agents (procarbazine), pain killers (aspirin, acetaminophen/hydrocodone), or lipid-lowering agents (rosuvastatin, atorvastatin).
Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform the doctor if you have depression, ulcerative colitis, bone marrow suppression, heart problems, lupus erythematosus, peripheral oedema, biliary colic, or renal dysfunction.
Consuming alcohol along with RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure. Therefore, avoid alcohol consumption during treatment with RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE.
Consult the doctor if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or planning for pregnancy.
Limited information is available. Consult the doctor if you are breastfeeding.
RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE may cause dizziness in some cases. Drive or operate heavy machinery only if you are alert.
Limited information is available. Please consult the doctor if you have liver problems or any concerns regarding this.
Limited information is available. Please consult the doctor if you have kidney problems or any concerns regarding this.
RESERPINE+DIHYDRALAZINE may not be recommended for children under 18 years of age. However, please consult the doctor if you have any concerns.
High blood pressure (hypertension): It is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels, leading to hypertension. This condition can lead to hardened arteries (blood vessels), decreasing the blood and oxygen flow to the heart. Raised blood pressure can cause chest pain (angina) and heart attack (when the blood supply to the heart is blocked). Additionally, high blood pressure also causes brain damage (stroke) and kidney failure. Symptoms of high blood pressure include headache, dizziness, nose bleed, changes in vision, chest pain, weakness and dyspnoea (shortness of breath). However, most of the time, there are no signs or symptoms of hypertension.
