Rimegepant

About Rimegepant

Rimegepant is used in the treatment and prevention of migraine headaches with or without aura. Aura is a phase before the start of a migraine headache that involves numbness, speech, or vision disorders. Migraine is a common disorder associated with multiple symptoms, but it frequently causes headaches of varying intensity

Rimegepant contains Rimegepant, which works by blocking the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptors. It thereby helps relieve the pain of migraine headaches.

Common side effects of Rimegepant include chest pain, indigestion, dry mouth, drowsiness, nausea, or flushing (redness, warmth, or tingling sensation). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Take Rimegepant as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Rimegepant for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition.  It is advised not to take more than one tablet a day. Do not chew, crush or break the medicine

If you are allergic to Rimegepant or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Rimegepant is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. Please consult a doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy before taking Rimegepant. You are recommended to avoid alcohol consumption with Rimegepant as it may worsen headaches.
