It is used in individuals who are immunocompromised or are unable to receive the COVID-19 vaccine due to allergy to the vaccine. TIXAGEVIMAB+CILGAVIMAB works by using monoclonal proteins to imitate the natural defence mechanisms of the body. The coronavirus contains a capsid with spike proteins, through which it penetrates into the body to cause infection. TIXAGEVIMAB+CILGAVIMAB binds to the spike protein of the virus at two different sites as it contains two different monoclonal antibodies. As it attaches to two different parts of the spike protein, it prevents the viral cells from entering and infecting human cells.
It is advisable to inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of its components. Keep your doctor informed if you suffer from HIV, asthma, cancer, liver disease, kidney problems, heart disease, epilepsy or a disease of the veins. Offer a detailed medical and vaccination history.
