It is also used to treat stuffy nose caused by sinus irritation, allergies, and the common cold. Nasal congestion is the blockage of nasal passage due to stuffed-up nasal fluid in the nose. Ptosis is the abnormal drooping of the upper eyelid. Rosacea is a condition characterized by small, red-coloured, pus-filled bumps on the face.
XYLOMETAZOLINE+BENZALKONIUM contains two medicines, namely xylometazoline and benzalkonium. Xylometazoline is known as a decongestant and works by shrinking the small blood vessels, giving temporary relief from inflammation (swelling and redness) and discomfort. On the other hand, benzalkonium works as a preservative and helps prolong the shelf life of XYLOMETAZOLINE+BENZALKONIUM.
You may experience a burning sensation, headache, dry nose, nausea, muscle weakness, paralysis, vomiting, and restlessness. Most of these side effects of XYLOMETAZOLINE+BENZALKONIUM do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

- In case of nasal congestion, take warm fluids to help clear-up mucus (nasal fluid) in the nose. Also, use a humidifier at home and rinse the inside of the nose with saline solution.
- For ptosis of the eyelid, do eyelid exercises. Raise your eyebrows by placing a finger underneath and hold them up for several seconds at a time while trying to close them.
- For rosacea, know and avoid triggers that cause the condition. Eat fiber-rich foods and probiotics and avoid spicy and processed foods. Limit alcohol intake. Do not go into sunlight directly.
