Ensure that the meter is turned on and the code on the meter matches the code on the strip container.
Clean the fingertip with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry.
Prick the fingertip using a lancing device.
Apply a small drop of blood to the yellow window on the strip.
After a few seconds, the meter will display the blood glucose level.
