Lexanox Plus Oral Paste is used to treat canker sores, also called aphthous ulcers in the mouth. Mouth ulcers are small, painful lesions that develop in the mouth or at the base of the gums. It contains Amlexanox and Lidocaine, which work by blocking the chemical messengers that cause pain, redness and inflammation due to mouth ulcers. It forms a protective film over the ulcer and fastens healing. This medicine may sometimes cause side effects such as reaction to the application site, such as a slight burning or stinging sensation.
