Unwanted Tablet is used in combination with Misoprostol to induce a medical abortion. Unwanted Tablet (Mifepristone) is used to terminate an early pregnancy in a safe medical setting. It works by blocking the effect of progesterone, a female hormone needed for a pregnancy to continue. When progesterone is blocked, the lining of the womb breaks down, and the pregnancy stops growing. This medicine is usually taken first, followed by another medicine called Misoprostol after 24 to 48 hours to complete the abortion process. It is also used to treat Cushing’s syndrome by helping to control excess cortisol levels. In some cases, it may be prescribed to regulate a delayed menstrual cycle and prevent ovulation (the release of a mature egg). It is not suitable for people with ectopic pregnancy (a condition where a fertilised egg implants outside the womb) or bleeding disorders. This medicine should never be used without a doctor’s guidance.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Unwanted Tablet interacts with corticosteroids (dexamethasone), antifungal (ketoconazole, itraconazole), antibiotics (erythromycin, rifampicin),  anti-epileptic (phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus), medicines to treat migraine (ergotamine). So, Unwanted Tablet should not be taken along with these drugs.
