Ibuprofen is also highly effective and safe to use while breastfeeding. Neither of these medications contains sulfa, so they are completely safe for you to take despite your allergy. Only tiny, harmless amounts of these medications pass into breast milk, making them safe for your 5-month-old baby as well. Please follow the standard dosage instructions on the package. If your fever persists for more than three days, please consult your healthcare provider for a personalized evaluation.
