Milk-like discharge from the breasts without pregnancy is called galactorrhea and is often related to slightly raised prolactin levels. Your prolactin level (28.7) is mildly elevated and can be influenced by stress, hormonal imbalance, or certain medicines. Sompraz D 40 may contribute, as domperidone can increase prolactin levels, while Zevit is unlikely to be the cause. You should consult a doctor for proper evaluation. Avoid frequent breast stimulation. Treatment depends on the cause, and mild cases may not need medication, but persistent symptoms may require specific treatment.

I took Cabergoline 0.5 mg (two tablets) as advised by my gynaecologist to stop milk production, and it worked initially. However, I am now experiencing watery discharge. Should I take cabergoline again, or is there another solution?

Watery discharge can sometimes occur even after taking Cabergoline, as milk suppression may not be complete or hormones are still settling. You should not take another dose on your own. It is normal for milk production to continue for some time even after a child stops breastfeeding, and it usually reduces on its own gradually. To help stop it, avoid breast stimulation (like pumping or frequent checking), wear a firm, supportive bra, and use cold compresses to relieve discomfort. If needed, a doctor may prescribe medicines like Cabergoline to reduce milk production, but this should only be taken under medical guidance.

I am 35 years old and taken Cabgolin 0.5 to stop milk production for my 2nd baby. I have completed the course and milk production has stopped but why is there pain around my breast once in a day and sometimes in upper back after 1 week of taking the medicine.

Your breast and back pain one week after taking cabergoline is most likely due to temporary fullness in the breast (engorgement) and your body adjusting to the hormonal changes after stopping milk production. This usually gets better on its own with supportive care like wearing a firm bra, using cold compresses, and resting your back.
