Can Codeine Sulphate 15 mg Tablet be used to treat fever and body pain?

Codeine Sulphate 15 mg Tablet (Codeine) is an opioid painkiller that can help relieve moderate pain, but it is not usually recommended for common body aches or fever. Over-the-counter painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen are generally preferred, as they help reduce both pain and fever. Codeine should only be taken for short-term use under medical supervision, as it may cause side effects such as drowsiness, constipation, and a risk of dependence.

I developed a dependence on codeine phosphate about 3 years ago. What steps should I take to completely stop using it and avoid relapse?

Drug-Drug Interactions: Codeine Sulphate 15 mg Tablet is known to interact with some medicines used to relieve anxiety (lorazepam, diazepam, alprazolam), anticonvulsant medication (pregabalin), an atypical antipsychotic medication (quetiapine), narcotic analgesic medication (oxycodone), and medicines used to treat depression (linezolid, moclobemide, selegiline)

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid the consumption of alcohol as it may increase dizziness and the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Codeine Sulphate 15 mg Tablet should not be used in patients with impaired GI motility, infectious diarrhoea, liver disease, prematurity, acute alcohol intoxication, drug dependence, gastrointestinal obstruction, hypotension, intracranial pressure and respiratory depression.
