Eltroxin 50mcg Tablet is used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). It contains Thyroxine sodium, which replaces or provides more thyroid hormone in the body when the body is unable to naturally produce enough thyroid hormone (Thyroxine) to meet the requirements of the body. It may cause side effects such as headache, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, sweating, muscle cramps, shaking (usually of hands) and feeling restless or excitable, or problems sleeping. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Certain medications that interact with Eltroxin 50mcg Tablet include anti-diabetic drug (metformin), neuro-related medicine (amphetamine), and acidity medicine (cimetidine, esomeprazole).

Drug-Food Interaction: Eltroxin 50mcg Tablet may interact with certain foods like soybean flour, cottonseed meal, walnuts, dietary fibre, calcium, and calcium-fortified juices.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Eltroxin 50mcg Tablet should not be used in conditions that include untreated or uncontrolled adrenal gland disorder, a thyroid disorder called thyrotoxicosis, or any recent or current symptoms of a heart attack.
