Olmesar-M 50 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure. It contains Olmesartan and Metoprolol, which work by relaxing blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Thus, it lowers blood pressure and helps in reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems in the future. In some cases, you may experience headaches, nausea, dizziness, increased potassium levels, and low blood pressure. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Olmesar-M 50 Tablet may interact with other beta-blockers (acebutolol, atenolol, bisoprolol, carteolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nadolol, nebivolol or sotalol), causing a dangerous drop in the heart rate. It also reacts with other anti-hypertensive drugs (aliskiren, amiloride, enalapril, captopril, quinapril), asthma medications (theophylline), potassium salts, pain killers (ibuprofen). If you are using these medicines, tell your doctor before taking Olmesar-M 50 Tablet .

Drug-Food Interaction: Olmesar-M 50 Tablet interacts with grapefruit and protein-enriched foods. Using Olmesar-M 50 Tablet together with ayurvedic, homoeopathy, Unani, herbal supplements, or any other OTC items may decrease its effects. Hence, it is better to maintain at least a 2-hour gap between the administration of Olmesar-M 50 Tablet and these products.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Olmesar-M 50 Tablet should not be given to people with high potassium levels, electrolyte imbalance, low blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disease, asthma, or cardiogenic shock (when the heart fails to pump.
