Sugamet MC 500 Tablet is used in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains Metformin and Methylcobalamin, which decrease liver glucose production and intestinal glucose uptake, and also helps treat vitamin B12 deficiency. It may cause side effects such as changes in taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, loss of appetite, and sweating. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

Methylcobalamin and mecobalamin are the same active form of vitamin B12, just called by different names. Both work equally well for nerve health and vitamin B12 deficiency. So if you received mecobalamin instead of methylcobalamin, it is safe and effective to take and does not change the benefit.
