Treatment of Bacterial infections
Medicinal Benefits:
Cphenicol Injection belongs to the group of antibiotic medicines used to treat severe bacterial infections such as meningitis and typhoid. It should only be used when other antibiotics are not suitable. Cphenicol Injection contains ‘Chloramphenicol’ that works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins which are necessary for vital bacterial functions. Thus, it kills the bacteria and helps in treating infection. Cphenicol Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Cphenicol Injection. Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in your stools (tarry stools) or if you experience severe diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Cphenicol Injection is associated with various forms of anaemia (decreased white, red blood cells and platelets). This may lead to loss of immunity and the development of leukaemia in a few people. Consult a doctor if you have any concerns.
Cphenicol Injection should be used with great care in newborn babies to avoid grey syndrome, a condition occurring due to excessive toxic chloramphenicol metabolites. Treatment should be stopped immediately if the symptoms are identified.
Headache could be a side effect of Cphenicol Injection. It is not necessary for everyone to experience this side effect. However, if the condition persists or worsens, consult a doctor.
Cphenicol Injection mostly works shortly after administration, but to eliminate all the harmful bacteria, it may take a few days. Completing the full course of treatment is important for the Cphenicol Injection effectiveness. If your condition doesn’t improve or worsens, consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if you don’t get better after completing the full course of Cphenicol Injection. Also, inform about the unwanted effects and the symptoms that worsen while using Cphenicol Injection.
