Medicinal Benefits:
GENTAMAC INJECTION is an antibiotic that treats severe/serious bacterial infections. It contains Gentamicin which works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thus inhibiting bacterial growth. It shows a bacteriostatic effect, which stops bacterial reproduction but doesn't kill them. GENTAMAC INJECTION is useful in treating recurrent infections of kidneys, urinary ducts and bladder, lungs and airways infections during hospitalization, infections of the skin and soft tissues, including burns, and sepsis (blood poisoning by bacteria).
GENTAMAC INJECTION belongs to the class of 'antibiotics', primarily used to treat serious bacterial infections. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes illness.
GENTAMAC INJECTION is an antibiotic that treats bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which retards bacterial growth.
GENTAMAC INJECTION should be used with proper caution and doctor consultation if you have any allergic reactions to medicines, liver/kidney problems, cystic fibrosis, hearing problems, low blood minerals/electrolyte imbalance, myasthenia gravis (muscular weakness), and Parkinson's disease.
GENTAMAC INJECTION can affect the live vaccines like typhoid vaccine and decrease its effectiveness. Please consult a doctor if you are undergoing any vaccinations.
GENTAMAC INJECTION may cause abnormal liver function tests as one of its side effects. It may increase the levels of liver enzymes and blood bilirubin. Please consult your doctor before starting GENTAMAC INJECTION if you have any history of liver problems.
Diarrhoea can be a side-effect of GENTAMAC INJECTION. Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD) is also reported during usage of antibiotics like GENTAMAC INJECTION. Therefore, when the patient has diarrhoea, undergoing an examination is advised to rule out the chances of CDAD following GENTAMAC INJECTION therapy.
