Medicinal Benefits:
Gentavet Injection is an antibiotic that treats severe/serious bacterial infections. It contains Gentamicin which works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thus inhibiting bacterial growth. It shows a bacteriostatic effect, which stops bacterial reproduction but doesn't kill them. Gentavet Injection is useful in treating recurrent infections of kidneys, urinary ducts and bladder, lungs and airways infections during hospitalization, infections of the skin and soft tissues, including burns, and sepsis (blood poisoning by bacteria).

Gentavet Injection may cause abnormal liver function tests as one of its side effects. It may increase the levels of liver enzymes and blood bilirubin. Please consult your doctor before starting Gentavet Injection if you have any history of liver problems.
Diarrhoea can be a side-effect of Gentavet Injection . Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD) is also reported during usage of antibiotics like Gentavet Injection . Therefore, when the patient has diarrhoea, undergoing an examination is advised to rule out the chances of CDAD following Gentavet Injection therapy.
