Patients may explore substitutes in the following scenarios:
Before you switch from Hazmin Syrup to another medicine, here are some important points to keep in mind:
Most substitutes contain the same active ingredient - MAGALDRATE-400MG/5ML+SIMETHICONE-20MG/5ML, but the fillers, coating, or manufacturing quality may vary slightly.
Even if the salt is the same, your doctor can confirm if the substitute is right for your condition, dosage, and health history.
Some people may react differently to certain brands due to inactive ingredients. If you notice any side effects, inform your doctor immediately.
A lower-priced substitute doesn't mean it's less effective. Many generic medicines work just as well as branded ones.
Always match the substitute’s strength (e.g., 5mg, 10mg) and form (tablet, capsule, syrup) with what your doctor prescribed.
Hazmin Syrup is used to treat digestive discomfort. The detailed uses of Hazmin Syrup are as follows:
Hazmin Syrup belongs to a group of medicines called antacids, anti-ulcerants used to treat acidity, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, and gas. Hazmin Syrup is a combination of two drugs: Magaldrate (antacid) and Simethicone (anti-flatulent). Magaldrate works by neutralising excess stomach acid. Simethicone is a mixture of silica gel and dimethicone. It is also known as activated dimethicone. Simethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.
