Metopar Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Metoclopramide and Paracetamol. Metopar Tablet is used to treat migraine signs such as headache, being sick (vomiting) and feeling sick (nausea). Metoclopramide is an anti-emetic that works on the part of the brain, thereby preventing the symptoms of nausea and vomiting. It also works on the muscles in the upper part of the digestive system, which helps empty the stomach. Paracetamol is an analgesic that works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as prostaglandins, which cause pain. Thereby, helps in relieving pain. Together, Metopar Tablet helps relieve the symptoms of migraines such as headache, nausea, and vomiting.

Consult your doctor before taking oral contraceptive pills along with Metopar Tablet as they might decrease the effectiveness of Metopar Tablet . Talk to your doctor, he/she may advise you to use an alternate method of contraception.

Metopar Tablet contains Paracetamol, an analgesic used to provide relief from pain. Therefore, please consult your doctor before taking any pain killer medicines, fever-reducing medicines, medicines for cold or sleeping problems along with Metopar Tablet as they may also contain paracetamol.

If you had an operation on your stomach or intestine, do not take Metopar Tablet during the first 3-4days after the surgery. However, please talk to your doctor before taking Metopar Tablet if you have had surgery.

Diarrhoea could be a side-effect of Metopar Tablet . Drink plenty of liquids to replace the lost fluids if you experience diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if the condition persists or worsens.

Metopar Tablet may cause irregular periods or loss of periods. Please consult your doctor if you experience this for longer than a few days.

Metopar Tablet contains metoclopramide, which can cause side effects like drowsiness and dizziness. Therefore, avoid giving Metopar Tablet before a task that requires mental focus such as running, jogging or cycling, or any other sports activity.

Metopar Tablet can enter the brain and can cause serious side effects including unusual mood changes such as anxiety, depression or agitation and uncontrolled and repeated movements of the arms, legs, eyes, mouth, tongue, face and jaw. If you experience any of these side effects, stop taking Metopar Tablet and consult your doctor immediately.

Metopar Tablet is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to Metopar Tablet , who have stomach or digestive tract bleeding, intestinal blockage, recent stomach or intestine surgery, phaeochromocytoma (a rare tumour of the adrenal gland) or epilepsy.

Children who are malnourished, who are suffering from liver/kidney disease, heart disease, electrolyte disturbances, antipsychotic medications, or atopic allergies, should consult your doctor before taking Metopar Tablet .

Overdose of Metopar Tablet may make your child feel dizzy, sleepy or drowsy, confused, sweaty, vomit, have pain in the stomach, have convulsions or fits, or experience uncontrolled muscle movements or notice yellowing of the skin. If you notice these symptoms, please consult your doctor immediately.

Store Metopar Tablet at temperature not exceeding 25°C, protect from sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

The common side effects of Metopar Tablet are dizziness, restlessness, fatigue, drowsiness, diarrhoea, and weakness. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
