Pileum Cream is a combination of six drugs, namely: Calcium dobesilate, Hydrocortisone, Lidocaine, Troxerutin, Zinc oxide and Phenylephrine. Calcium dobesilate and Troxerutin are vasoprotective agents that promote healing and lower inflammation by decreasing the viscosity of the blood and reducing leakage from the blood vessels. Hydrocortisone is a steroid which helps in reducing itching, redness and swelling due to piles. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that decreases irritation and discomfort by shrinking the blood vessels in the affected area. Zinc oxide has an antiseptic and astringent action. The symptoms of anal fissures and piles are similar. However, an anal fissure is a small tear in the mucosa that lines the anus, whereas piles are inflamed and swollen veins in the rectum and anus that cause discomfort, pain and bleeding.

Your doctor will recommend you to make changes in your diet and lifestyle (like enough sleep and plenty of exercises) and sitz bath. In a sitz bath, fill about half the capacity of the tub with warm water and sit in it bare skin to get relief.
