Uses:
Treatment of Peptic ulcer disease.
Medicinal Benefits:
Pleze-HP Kit combines three drugs: Pantoprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin. Amoxicillin is bactericidal (kills bacteria) and prevents the formation of bacterial cell covering (protective cell wall) necessary for their survival, thereby preventing the growth of bacteria. Clarithromycin is a bacteriostatic antibiotic, i.e., it stops the growth of bacteria but does not necessarily kill them. It works by inhibiting the protein synthesis process required for bacterial cell growth. As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for acid production in the stomach. Thereby reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Altogether, Pleze-HP Kit helps in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease.
Pleze-HP Kit is used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease caused by infection with a common type of bacteria called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). It works by inhibiting the action of gastric proton pump and preventing the growth of micro-organisms.
Speak to your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Pleze-HP Kit for 14 days. Do not take Pleze-HP Kit for longer durations unless prescribed by the doctor.
Pleze-HP Kit may cause dizziness. Drive only if you are alert and omit driving and operating machinery if you feel dizzy after taking Pleze-HP Kit.
Avoid or limit the consumption of alcohol while on Pleze-HP Kit as it may lead to increased dizziness. Alcohol intake may also lead to excess production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Pleze-HP Kit. Drink enough fluids and eat fibre rich food if you experience diarrhoea after taking Pleze-HP Kit. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience excess diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Pleze-HP Kit contains pantoprazole, which may increase the risk of bone fracture in the hip, spine, or wrist. Recent clinical studies indicated that pantoprazole may affect the absorption of certain nutrients and minerals required for maintaining good bone health, leading to fractures. This mainly occurs in people taking higher doses of Pleze-HP Kit for longer durations. Inform your doctor before taking Pleze-HP Kit if you have osteoporosis or if you are already taking corticosteroids.
Dry mouth could be a side effect of Pleze-HP Kit. Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking, drinking enough water, and chewing sugar-free gum or candy might help stimulate saliva and thereby prevent dryness of the mouth.
Inform your doctor if you don’t get better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, let your doctor know if your symptoms are getting worse while using Pleze-HP Kit. Your doctor may need to reassess your condition, possibly perform additional tests, and prescribe a different treatment if necessary.
A peptic ulcer is a sore that develops on the lining of your stomach, lower esophagus, or small intestine. It's usually caused by an infection with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria or prolonged use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Do not use Pleze-HP Kit if you have a known hypersensitivity to Pleze-HP Kit. Use Pleze-HP Kit with caution if you have liver disease, as the antibiotics in Pleze-HP Kit can affect liver function. Inform your doctor if you have or ever had gastrointestinal bleeding, diabetes, myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disease), bone fractures, or hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium). Also let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or planning pregnancy.
Take Pleze-HP Kit 30-60 minutes before food or as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. But try to take it at the same time each day for better efficacy. Do not crush or chew it.
No, do not stop using Pleze-HP Kit even if you feel better as stopping Pleze-HP Kit early can result in the infection not being fully treated, which could lead to side effects. Therefore, complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor.
The common side effects of Pleze-HP Kit are nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain, taste change, and headache. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
