About ACENT GEL

ACENT GEL belongs to a class of medications called 'topical analgesic' (pain killer) primarily used to relieve joint pain, low back pain, muscle sprain and sports injuries. Besides this, it also reduces pain and swelling in muscles and joints in the conditions of joint disorders like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is a condition that causes swelling of one or more joints resulting in pain and stiffness of joints that worsen over time.

ACENT GEL is a combination of four drugs: Aceclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, and Menthol. Aceclofenac and Methyl salicylate are pain killers which work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical prostaglandin (PG). By blocking the COX enzyme's effect, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Capsaicin is a natural extract of chilli pepper that works by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs.

ACENT GEL is only for external use. Avoid contact of ACENT GEL with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case ACENT GEL comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Your doctor will advise you how often you use ACENT GEL based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience redness, itching, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of ACENT GEL do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to ACENT GEL or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking ACENT GEL . Medicinal Benefits

ACENT GEL is a combination of four drugs: Aceclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate and Menthol. ACENT GEL is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis, and low back pain. Aceclofenac and Methyl salicylate belong to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) or pain killers that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain responsible for causing pain and symptoms of inflammation such as redness and swelling. How ACENT GEL Works

What if I have taken an overdose of ACENT GEL

Use ACENT GEL only as suggested by the physician. Though overdose is unlikely due to low systemic absorption, it is advised to avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual symptoms.

Drug Warnings

If you are known to be allergic to ACENT GEL or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking ACENT GEL . Do not apply heat or wrap the treated area of skin with bandages. Avoid using ACENT GEL in more than prescribed doses, or on a large area of skin for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects. Do not apply ACENT GEL on cuts, wounds or damaged skin. Wait for a minimum of 10 minutes before wearing clothes or gloves over the treated area. If you have asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, blood clots, bleeding in the stomach or intestines, stomach ulcers, oedema (swelling due to fluid retention), liver, kidney or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking ACENT GEL . Do not take any other pain killers for pain relief along with ACENT GEL unless prescribed.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

Maintain healthy body weight as obesity may also cause joint pains. Please do not go for heavy exercise as it may increase your joint pain in arthritis. Instead, you can do stretching, low impact aerobic exercise like walking on a treadmill, bike riding, and swimming. You can also strengthen your muscle strength by lifting light weights.
Include more glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, Vitamin D, calcium-enriched supplements. Besides this, turmeric and fish oils can help in reducing inflammation in the tissue.
In the chronic conditions of arthritis or joint pain, try to include fish like salmon, trout, tuna, and sardines. These fishes are enriched with omega-3 fatty acids which helps in reducing inflammation (redness and swelling) and protects the heart.
Your sitting posture is important, especially when have pain and inflammation condition. Try to sit little as possible, and only for a short time (10-15 min). Use back support like a rolled-up towel at the back of your curve to minimize pain. Besides this, you can use a footrest if required.
