• Aerocort Inhaler can be taken with or without food.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safe and effective use.
• Hold the inhaler/transhaler with the mouthpiece downwards. Put the mouthpiece between your teeth and seal your lips around it. Then, press down the inhaler once to release the medication. Breathe in slowly and hold your breath for 5 to 10 seconds. Breathe out slowly. Repeat the process until you have inhaled the number of puffs prescribed by the doctor.

• Avoid Breathing Triggers: Identify and avoid your personal breathing triggers, such as tobacco smoke, dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and strong chemical fumes.
• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your airway secretions thin and easier to clear.
• Maintain a Clean Home: Keep your home environment clean by washing your bed linens weekly in hot water and using a vacuum with a HEPA filter to minimize dust.
• Eat a Balanced Diet: Eat a balanced, nutrient-rich diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables to support your immune system and overall lung health.
• Stay Physically Active: Incorporate gentle, doctor-approved breathing exercises or light physical activities, like walking, to gradually strengthen your lung capacity.

• Rinse Your Mouth: Always rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and spit it out after every use to prevent oral thrush and throat irritation.
• Monitor Dose Counter: Keep track of the number of puffs you have used or check the dose counter regularly so you do not run out of medication unexpectedly.
• Clean Your Inhaler: Clean the plastic holder of your inhaler at least once a week according to the package insert to prevent blockage and ensure proper delivery.
• Personal Use Only: Never share your inhaler with anyone else, even if they have the same symptoms as you.
• Carry Your Rescue Inhaler:  If your doctor has prescribed a separate fast-acting rescue inhaler for sudden, severe asthma attacks, ensure you keep it with you at all times.
• Ask Your Doctor: If you struggle to coordinate pressing the canister and breathing in, ask your doctor or pharmacist if using a spacer device would be helpful.
