Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection belongs to a class of medication called cephalosporin antibiotics. It is used to treat various bacterial infections in the body. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection.

Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection contains Ceftazidime and Tazobactam. Ceftazidime works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) that is necessary for their survival. Tazobactam decreases bacterial resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftazidime against the bacteria. Together, Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection helps to treat bacterial infections.

Sometimes, you may experience redness and swelling at the injection site, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and muscle spasms. Most of these side effects of Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Before taking Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any foods or medications. Drive with caution since Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection may cause dizziness. Before taking Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection, inform your doctor about your medical history and other medications you are currently taking in order to rule out any potential negative effects.

You are recommended to complete the full course of Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection as your doctor prescribes for effective results. Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection should not be administered if you are currently on any vaccinations or are scheduled for the same. Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection should be used with caution in those with Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea. Drive only if you are alert, as Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection may cause dizziness.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection may interact with certain vaccinations (e.g. BCG vaccine, cholera vaccine, typhoid vaccine) and immunosuppressive medications (e.g. mycophenolate mofetil).

Drug-Food Interactions: Alcohol consumption should be avoided.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection may interact with certain disease conditions, including colitis (inflammation in your colon), renal dysfunction, renal impairment, dialysis, liver disease, and seizure disorders. So, inform your doctor about your medical conditions before taking Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection.

• It would be best to take probiotics after taking the full course of Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection to restore some healthy intestinal bacteria that may have been killed. Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Certain fermented foods like yoghurt, cheese, sauerkraut and kimchi can help restore the intestine's good bacteria.
• Include more fibre-enriched food in your diet, as it can be easily digested by gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Thus, fibre foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after an antibiotic course. Whole grains, like whole-grain bread, and brown rice, should be included in your diet.
• Avoid taking much calcium-enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection.
• Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages with Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection as it can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This can make it harder for your body to aid the Alzitaz-2.25Gm Injection in fighting off infections.
