About AMIVAL 50MG TABLET

AMIVAL 50MG TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called 'antipsychotics' used to treat nausea and vomiting post-surgery. In higher doses, AMIVAL 50MG TABLET also treats schizophrenia and acute psychotic episodes. Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which the person may feel, hear, or see things that are not there, believe things that are not true, feel unusually suspicious or confused.

AMIVAL 50MG TABLET contains 'Amisulpride' that works by blocking chemical messengers' effects in the brain (dopamine and serotonin). This helps in improving mood, behaviour, and thoughts. AMIVAL 50MG TABLET elevates the symptoms of the disease and prevents them from coming back.  In this way, it improves disturbed thoughts, feelings, and behaviour.

You are suggested to take AMIVAL 50MG TABLET as long as your doctor has prescribed it after checking your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as uncontrolled moments of arms and legs, difficulty sleeping (insomnia),  or feeling anxious or agitated, feeling drowsy or sleepy, constipation, feeling or being sick, dry mouth, putting on weight, unusual production of breast milk in women and men, breast pain, menstrual period stops, and blurred vision.  Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

To treat your condition effectually, continue taking AMIVAL 50MG TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Do not take AMIVAL 50MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. AMIVAL 50MG TABLET causes drowsiness and dizziness, do not drive unless you are alert. AMIVAL 50MG TABLET can be given to children if prescribed by the doctor for treating conduct disorder. AMIVAL 50MG TABLET should not be given to children for treating schizophrenia or mania. Avoid consuming alcohol along with AMIVAL 50MG TABLET as it could change the way alcohol affects you. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.
