About Anescaine 2% Injection

Anescaine 2% Injection is a sterile injection used to prevent pain by numbing specific areas of the body before medical, surgical, or dental procedures. It is also used as an emergency treatment to control dangerous, irregular heartbeats. This injection works quickly to block nerve signals or stabilise heart rhythms when immediate medical care is required.

Because it is injected by a healthcare professional, it is typically used as a single dose for surgeries or given continuously under medical supervision in a hospital setting. To ensure the best results, it is important to rest quietly after receiving this medicine and avoid eating or drinking if your mouth or throat has been numbed. Following simple recovery steps helps prevent accidental injury to the numbed tissues.

Some people may experience mild side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, or a warm sensation around the injection site. However, you should alert your healthcare team immediately if you experience serious symptoms such as difficulty breathing, severe chest discomfort, or sudden confusion.

Tell your healthcare provider if you have a history of liver damage, kidney problems, or certain types of heart block before receiving this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you have a known allergy to local anaesthetics of the amide type.

This injection can interact with other heart medicines, blood pressure drugs, or alcohol, which may increase the risk of severe heart side effects. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or an elderly patient, discuss the benefits and risks with your healthcare provider before undergoing a procedure with it. Older adults may be more sensitive to the effects of this medicine and may require closer monitoring or a lower dose.

Uses of Anescaine 2% Injection

Your doctor may recommend this injection to help manage the following conditions:

  • Local numbing (local anaesthesia): It is used to block pain in a specific, localised area of the body before minor surgeries, dental work, or diagnostic tests.
  • Nerve blocks: It is used to temporarily block pain signals from larger nerve groups during surgical procedures, orthopaedic repairs, or childbirth.
  • Abnormal heart rhythms (ventricular arrhythmias): Injected into a vein to restore a steady, normal heartbeat during medical emergencies, such as after a heart attack.

Key Benefits

When taken consistently as directed, this injection may provide the following health benefits:

  • Provides pain relief: Helps provide temporary pain relief during medical or surgical procedures by numbing the treated area.
  • Supports comfortable procedures: Helps you remain comfortable during procedures while avoiding the need for general anaesthesia in appropriate cases.
  • Helps control abnormal heart rhythms: When used for certain heart conditions, it helps restore and stabilise normal heart rhythm as directed by your doctor.
  • Supports emergency cardiac care: May help improve blood flow by controlling life-threatening abnormal heart rhythms during emergency treatment.

Directions for Use

  • Follow your doctor’s instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safe and effective use.
  • Anescaine 2% Injection will be administered by the doctor or healthcare professional.
  • Do not self-administer.

How Anescaine 2% Injection Works

This medicine contains Anescaine 2% Injection. It works by temporarily stopping nerves from sending pain signals to your brain. It does this by blocking sodium from entering nerve endings at the site of the injection. Because sodium is required to start and send electrical pain signals along your nerves, blocking this pathway prevents you from feeling pain in the treated area. When injected into a vein to treat abnormal heart rhythms, the medicine works by stabilising the electrical membranes in the heart muscle. It slows down rapid or irregular electrical impulses in the heart's pumping chambers, helping the heart return to a normal, steady beat.
