APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML is used to treat bacterial eye infections, such as bacterial conjunctivitis.
APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme required for the replication, transcription, and repair of DNA. This enzyme leads to bacterial cell death. Thus, APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML helps relieve and treat symptoms of bacterial eye infections.
It is recommended to complete the course even if you feel better, as it is an antibiotic, and stopping it midway may lead to a recurrence of the infection. Continue using APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML for as long as your doctor has prescribed to treat your condition effectually.
Avoid contact between the dropper/tube tip and your fingers, eyes, and eyelids while using APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML. Secure the lid of the container immediately after use.
If you use another eye ointment or drops along with APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML, wait at least 5-10 minutes. Also, use eye drops before applying any ointment.
It does not contain steroids. APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML is an antibiotic from the class of fluoroquinolones.
The common side effects of APDROPS XG DROPS 5ML include dry eyes, watery eyes, eye pain or discomfort, blurred vision, redness, itching, and eye irritation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and usually resolve on their own over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, contact your doctor.
Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Gently pull your lower eyelid with your index finger to create a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
