Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's belongs to a group of medications called Benzodiazepines (BZD) that are primarily used for the treatment of anxiety disorders and prevention of seizures (fits) due to epilepsy.
An anxiety disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by feelings of excessive fear or worry, that affects an individual's daily activities. On the other hand, Epilepsy is a chronic disorder characterized by episodes of seizures (fits). In this condition, there is a chemical change in the brain cells (neurons) that leads to a sudden surge of electrical activity in the brain followed by sudden jerky movements of limbs or a part of the body.
Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's works by increasing levels of brain cell (neuron) calming chemical, known as gamma-amino-butyric-acid (GABA) in your brain, that helps to relieve anxiety, stop seizures attacks (fits), and cause relaxation of the tense muscles. Besides this, Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's also relieves temporary insomnia (sleeplessness) due to anxiety disorders.
You can take Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's with food or without food. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, bite, or break it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience daytime drowsiness, disturbed sleep, light-headedness or dizziness. Most of these side effects of Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, please reach out to your doctor.
Do not take this medicine if you have any lung disease, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), sleeping disorders or difficulty in sleeping (sleep apnoea), severe liver disease, or a problem with alcohol or other prescription drugs. Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's is a habit-forming drug and, hence there is a risk of forming a dependence on this medicine. Therefore, before stopping this medicine, consult your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, increased heart rate, tremor, or general unwell feeling.

When you take Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's, you will have an increase in chemical messenger (GABA neurotransmitter) in your body. It decreases the feeling of nervousness, stress, and anxiety that leads to a state of calmness and relaxation. Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's benefits people who struggle with anxiety and worries in daily life. Regular intake of the prescribed dose of Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's improves social-life as well as your ability and performance at work and general wellbeing. Besides this, in conditions of mania, Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's reduces the need for antipsychotic drugs needed to keep mania attack under control and hence the associated side effects.

Taking Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's with opioid medicines can cause severe drowsiness, breathing problems, coma, and death. Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's should be taken with extreme caution in patients with a history of alcohol or drug abuse. Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's may affect your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery if taken with alcohol. So, if you feel excess suicidal thoughts, difficulty in concentration, sleep disturbances, dizziness, or, sleepiness let your doctor know about this. Pregnant or lactating women should consult a doctor before taking it as it is a Category D pregnancy medication. Do not take Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any benzodiazepine class of drugs (diazepam, chlordiazepoxide, bromazepam, or flurazepam), suffer from lung disease, liver disease, glaucoma, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis) or have difficulty in sleeping (sleep apnoea).
You are recommended not to consume alcohol along with Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's to avoid unpleasant side-effects like drowsiness, dizziness, or sleepiness. It may also lead to a life-threatening condition like coma if taken with excessive alcohol.
Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's is a Category D risk pregnancy drug that is considered unsafe for pregnant women. Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's can have some harmful effects on the baby (foetus), so your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you.
Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's passes into the breast milk and may cause some degree of sedation in the baby. So, keep your doctor informed if you're planning to breastfeed while on this medication.
Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's usually causes dizziness, drowsiness and visual disturbances which may affect their ability to drive or operate machinery. So, do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel sleepy or dizzy after taking Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's. Tell your doctor if you get these types of side effects.

On the other hand, high levels of anxiety can cause panic attacks, with intense feelings of nervousness, fear, and sudden onset of sweating, hyperventilation, fast heartbeat, and flushing of the skin. Anyone can develop epilepsy, but it is commonly seen in young children and the elderly.
Caffeine is a stimulant that may reduce the calming effects of Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's. So, it is advisable to avoid the intake of caffeinated beverages like coffee, tea, and cola, or chocolate that contain caffeine.
If the intake of Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's makes you feel sleepy or dizzy do not drive a motor vehicle or operate machinery. Let your doctor know if feel such symptoms after taking this medicine.
Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's is a Category D pregnancy drug. It means studies have shown the risk of adverse effects on the foetus when the mother takes this medicine. So, if you are planning a pregnancy or are currently pregnant - inform your doctor.
Elderly patients (aged more than 65 years) are more likely to have confusion and sleepiness, or age-related health issues, which may require caution and an adjustment in the dose for patients receiving Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's. So, it is better to consult a doctor before taking this medicine.
There is no clinical evidence that Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's affects fertility in either men or women. But, if you are trying to get pregnant, consult your doctor.
Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's is a Schedule X and a habit-forming drug. It is not likely to be addictive if you take it for 2-4 weeks. However, if the doctor has prescribed you for more than 2-4 weeks, your doctor may reduce your dose before completely stopping it.
Do not stop taking Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's until instructed by your doctor. You may get side effects like confusion, depression, nervousness, sweating and diarrhoea. Your doctor may lower the dose of Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's if using it for more than 2-4 weeks of treatment to reduce side effects.
Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's is prescribed for the long term when used for epilepsy. So, if Aplaz 2 Tablet 10's is prescribed for more than 4 weeks, your doctor may reduce the dose before stopping it completely to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
