About ATEN 25MG TABLET

ATEN 25MG TABLET belongs to a group of heart disease-related medicines known as beta-blockers. It helps in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias), chest pain with painful tightness in the chest (angina pectoris) and protects the heart in the early treatment after a heart attack (myocardial infarction). High blood pressure increases the workload of the heart, and if it continues for a long time, the heart and blood vessels (arteries) may not function properly. It can damage the arteries of the brain, heart, and kidneys, resulting in a stroke, heart failure, or kidney failure. However, lowering blood pressure may reduce the risk of stroke and heart attacks.

ATEN 25MG TABLET primarily helps in relaxing our blood vessels by blocking the action of certain natural substances in your body. Altogether, ATEN 25MG TABLET helps in lowering your raised blood pressure and in reducing the risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems in the future.

You can take ATEN 25MG TABLET with food or before/after a meal. Your doctor will advise you how often you take your tablets based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience headache, cold hands/feet, diarrhoea, feeling sick (nausea), feeling tired, aching and tired muscles, depressed mood, and dizziness. Most of these side effects of ATEN 25MG TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Try not to stop taking this medicine of your own as it may raise your blood pressure and increase the chance of having a heart attack. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from any kidney or liver or heart disease or are diabetic. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please tell your doctor so that the dosage of ATEN 25MG TABLET can be prescribed accordingly. It should not be given to children less than 12 years of age. Tell your doctor that you are using ATEN 25MG TABLET before undergoing any planned surgery. Your doctor might advise you to stop using ATEN 25MG TABLET due to the increased risk of low blood pressure (hypotension) with anaesthesia.

Do not use ATEN 25MG TABLET if you have a cardiogenic shock (sudden stopping of blood flow to the heart). Please tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines or are allergic to this medicine. You should not take ATEN 25MG TABLET or consult a doctor if you have asthma, wheezing or any other breathing problems, allergic reactions (like insect stings), chest pain (prinzmetal's angina), poor blood circulation, first stage heart block, diabetes, fast heart beating, thyrotoxicosis (overactive thyroid gland), kidney failure. ATEN 25MG TABLET may mask some of the symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), and overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), so regular monitoring of blood sugar level and thyroid profile is required.
