About Barbee-25 Tablet

Barbee-25 Tablet is used to control various epileptic conditions (fits), prevent seizures and treat shaking attacks (essential tremors). Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder characterized by a sudden rush of electrical activity in the brain, leading to seizures, unusual behaviour, and loss of awareness. Barbee-25 Tablet is ineffective for treating absence (petit mal) seizures.

Barbee-25 Tablet contains 'Primidone', which increases the activity of a chemical messenger (GABA) that suppresses the brain's excessive and abnormal activity of nerve cells. Our brain cells (neurons) work by firing at a certain rate to function normally. However, during an epileptic attack or seizure, our neurons are forced to work rapidly compared to normal conditions. Barbee-25 Tablet prevents neurons from working at a very fast speed, thereby preventing all brain cells from firing together rapidly in an uncontrolled way. As a result, episodes of seizures are stopped at their initial point only. 

Take Barbee-25 Tablet with or without food. You are advised to take Barbee-25 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as nausea, headache, vomiting, drowsiness, vertigo, visual impairment, low energy, impaired coordination, and nystagmus (involuntary eye movement). Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

To treat your condition, effectually continue taking Barbee-25 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Please do not skip any doses or stop taking Barbee-25 Tablet suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it may lead to increased seizures. Avoid taking Barbee-25 Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Barbee-25 Tablet should not be given to children unless prescribed by a doctor. What if I have taken an overdose of Barbee-25 Tablet

Overdose of Barbee-25 Tablet may cause ataxia (loss of muscle control), loss of consciousness, respiratory depression and coma. Seek immediate medical attention if you have taken an overdose.
