BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE belongs to a class of drugs called antibiotics used in the treatment of several bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ears, nose, throat, chest, and lungs. Bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE does not work against infections caused by the virus.

BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE is a combination of two antibiotics (Amoxicillin, Cloxacillin) and one probiotic (Lactobacillus sporogenes ).  Amoxicillin and Cloxacillin work by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) that is necessary for their survival. Thereby, damages the bacterial cell wall and kills bacteria. Lactobacillus sporogenes belongs to the class of probiotics (live micro-organisms that keeps the body healthy) that help to restore good bacteria in the intestines. Thus, it prevents diarrhoea and loss of beneficial bacteria due to prolonged intake of BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE.

Take BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain, bloating, gas, or skin rash. Most of these side effects of BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE, penicillins, or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE. Amoxicillin may reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. Therefore, discuss with your doctor about other contraceptive methods such as using non-hormonal birth control measures that include condoms, spermicide, or diaphragm to avoid pregnancy while taking BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE. Drive only if you are alert as BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE may cause dizziness.

Drug-Drug Interaction: BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE may interact with blood thinner (warfarin), medicines used to treat gout (allopurinol, probenecid), antibiotics (tetracycline), anticancer drug (methotrexate).

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have glandular fever (swollen glands, fever, extreme tiredness and sore throat), not urinating regularly, kidney problems, weak immune system, or short bowel syndrome, inform your doctor before taking BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE.

• Take probiotics after completing the full course of BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE in order to restore some healthy bacteria in the intestines that may have been killed. Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Certain fermented foods like cheese, yogurt, kombucha, sauerkraut, and kimchi can help to restore the good bacteria of the intestine.
• Include fiber-rich foods, as they can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Thus, fiber-rich foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after a course of antibiotics. Whole grains such as whole-grain bread and brown rice should be included in your diet.
• Make sure you drink plenty of water or other fluids every day while you are taking BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE.
• Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase adverse effects.

If you are about to undergo any blood or urine tests, inform your doctor that you are taking BICIDAL PLUS CAPSULE as it may interfere with these tests.
