BIZFER ELIXER is used to treat anaemia (deficiency of iron and haemoglobin). Its deficiency occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). It contains Iron and Folic acid, which work by boosting the production of red blood cells (RBC) in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs are produced in the body, so that body's each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen. It may cause side effects such as constipation, dry mouth, loss of appetite, bloating, and diarrhoea in some cases. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

What if I have taken an overdose of BIZFER ELIXER

Do not take more than the recommended dose of BIZFER ELIXER as it may cause overdose. The symptoms of overdose include vomiting, severe stomach pain, shallow breathing, bloody diarrhea, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds, weak and rapid pulse, blue lips, pale skin, and seizures (fits). What if you forget to take BIZFER ELIXER

Drug-Drug Interaction: BIZFER ELIXER may interact with medicines used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (penicillamine, sulfasalazine), blood cholesterol (cholestyramine), Parkinson's disease (levodopa, carbidopa), thyroid disease (thyroxine), bone disease (bisphosphonates), certain cancers (aminopterin, methotrexate), malaria (pyrimethamine), Wilson's disease (trientine), antibiotics (cotrimoxazole, chloramphenicol, tetracyclines).
