About Brimox 125mg Syrup

Brimox 125mg Syrup is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in children. It is used in treating infections of the skin, throat, ear, and lungs caused by bacteria. A bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria enter and grow in the body. This bacteria can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Brimox 125mg Syrup is effective in treating infections caused by bacteria only and does not treat viral infections like flu or a common cold.

Brimox 125mg Syrup contains Amoxicillin belonging to the penicillin class of drugs. It works by inhibiting the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) and causing damage to the bacterial cell wall. This eventually leads to the death of the bacterial cell and thus prevents the growth of bacterial infections. 

Brimox 125mg Syrup may cause certain side effects in your child such as indigestion, diarrhoea, nausea, and stomach pain. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your paediatrician. Brimox 125mg Syrup should be used as advised by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose to the child. It helps clear the infection and prevent complications like hearing loss.<br/>• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Brimox 125mg Syrup is effective against bladder and kidney infections, especially in pediatric patients. It helps reduce symptoms like painful urination, frequent urination, and abdominal discomfort.<br/>• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: In children, Brimox 125mg Syrup is used to treat bacterial skin infections, including impetigo, cellulitis, and infected wounds, by eliminating the bacteria causing redness, swelling, and pus formation.<br/>

Directions for Use

Please do not exceed the recommended dose, as it might cause an overdose. Signs and symptoms of an overdose of Brimox 125mg Syrup may include cloudy or bloody urine and decreased urination. Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any symptoms or think you have taken too much. Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning.
