I have had ear pain since the evening. I used Candibiotic ear drops once, but there is no relief. What should I do?

Ear pain since evening may be due to irritation, infection, or wax, and using Candibiotic just once may not give immediate relief. Avoid putting anything into the ear (including cotton buds), keep the ear dry, and you may take a pain relief tablet if needed, as advised. Do not keep using ear drops repeatedly without proper diagnosis, as the treatment depends on the exact cause. If the pain persists beyond 1-2 days, worsens, or is associated with discharge, fever, or hearing difficulty, you should consult a doctor (ENT) for proper examination and treatment.
I have been experiencing ear canal pain after frequent use of cotton buds for itching. Over time, it has worsened, and now I have severe pain around the ear canal and the nearby area. Recently, I also noticed a light yellow discharge from the ear. I have been using Candibiotic ear drops, but there has been no improvement even after 3 days. What should I do?

Your symptoms suggest irritation or infection of the ear canal, likely worsened by repeated use of cotton buds, which can injure the skin and push infection deeper. Since you now have severe pain and yellow discharge and are not improving with Candibiotic drops, you should stop using cotton buds and avoid putting anything into the ear, keep the ear dry, and seek an ENT doctor's evaluation as soon as possible, as you may need proper cleaning of the ear and specific treatment such as antibiotic or antifungal medication based on the cause. You can take pain relief as advised, but do not self-medicate further, and seek urgent care if pain becomes severe, swelling develops, or hearing is affected.
I have recurring ear pain that improves temporarily with Candibiotic ear drops but returns again. I also have cough and changes in my voice. Could these be related?

Recurring ear pain that improves only temporarily with drops like Candibiotic may mean the underlying cause is not fully treated or may not be limited to the ear canal. Your cough and voice changes can sometimes be related, as throat or upper respiratory infections can affect the Eustachian tube (which connects the throat to the ear) and cause ear discomfort. It is best to get examined by an ENT doctor to check both your ear and throat and identify the exact cause. Avoid self-medicating repeatedly with ear drops, keep your ear dry, stay well hydrated, and seek prompt care if symptoms persist, worsen, or are associated with fever, discharge, or hearing changes.
