About Candid B Lotion 15 ml

Candid B Lotion 15 ml is used to treat fungal infections, such as ringworm of the foot (tinea pedis or athlete's foot), ringworm of the groin (tinea cruris or jock itch), and ringworm of the body (tinea corporis). Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin.  Symptoms of a fungal infection include skin rash, irritation, redness, and scaling of the skin. 

Candid B Lotion 15 ml is composed of two medicines: Clotrimazole (antifungal) and Beclomethasone dipropionate (steroid). Clotrimazole stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Beclomethasone dipropionate belongs to the class of corticosteroids, which blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen, and itchy. Thereby, Candid B Lotion 15 ml helps treat fungal infections.

Candid B Lotion 15 ml is for topical (for skin) use only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina, rinse with cold water. Candid B Lotion 15 ml may cause common side effects such as itching, dryness, redness, and a burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, consult your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Clotrimazole, Beclomethasone dipropionate, or any other medications. Do not cover with a dressing or bandage on the affected area since it increases the risk of side effects. • Candid B Lotion 15 ml should be applied twice daily or as advised by your doctor. • Check the label for directions before using this medication. Apply a thin layer of cream to the clean and dry affected area. •Candid B Lotion 15 ml is for topical use only. If Candid B Lotion 15 ml accidentally comes into contact with the eyes, eyelids, lips, or mucous membranes, rinse with plenty of lukewarm water immediately. Wash your hands before and after using Candid B Lotion 15 ml if your hands are not the affected area.

What if I have taken an overdose of Candid B Lotion 15 ml

Though overdose is unlikely due to low systemic absorption, it is advised to avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Long-term use of high doses may cause skin thinning, changes in body fat, easy bruising, increased acne or facial hair, impotence or loss of interest in sex, and menstrual problems. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience these symptoms.

Drug Warnings

Before using Candid B Lotion 15 ml, let your doctor know if have a history of liver diseases, adrenal gland problems, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes or allergic reactions to Clotrimazole, Beclomethasone, other steroid medicines or antifungals. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Candid B Lotion 15 ml is for external use only, so avoid its contact with the eyes, mouth, or vagina. Notify the doctor if there is no improvement after one week of treatment for tinea cruris or tinea corporis, or after two weeks for tinea pedis. When using Candid B Lotion 15 ml in the groin area, use Candid B Lotion 15 ml for two weeks only. Prolonged use of Candid B Lotion 15 ml may cause hormonal suppression, Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia (increased blood sugar level), and glucosuria (high sugar in urine) in some patients.
