Caterpil Capsule 10's is a combination medication primarily used to reduce and relieve pain and inflammation (swelling) associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Caterpil Capsule 10's may also be indicated in the treatment of pain associated with post-traumatic and post-operative cases.
Caterpil Capsule 10's combines two drugs: Aceclofenac (painkiller) and Rabeprazole (antacid). Aceclofenac works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzyme that makes other chemical prostaglandins. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser prostaglandins are produced. This helps reduce mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Aceclofenac has been reported to cause gastric discomfort and acidity. Hence, it is combined with Rabeprazole, a medicine belonging to a group of proton pump inhibitors that reduce the amount of acid the stomach makes, thus preventing damage to the stomach. Thus, the combination helps alleviate pain with minimal gastric irritation caused due to Aceclofenac alone.
Take Caterpil Capsule 10's as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Caterpil Capsule 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience indigestion, stomach pain, constipation, dizziness, nausea and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of Caterpil Capsule 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor if you are suffering from kidney, liver, or heart disease. Caterpil Capsule 10's may cause dizziness, so avoid driving or operating machinery unless you are alert. Caterpil Capsule 10's is not recommended for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding and in children. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Caterpil Capsule 10's as it could lead to increased dizziness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.
Caterpil Capsule 10's is a combination of two drugs: Aceclofenac (painkiller) and Rabeprazole (antacid). Aceclofenac belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (pain killers) that block the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical 'prostaglandins' (PG). Prostaglandins play an important role in controlling pain and inflammation. By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, lesser PGs are produced. Thereby, it helps relieve pain and swelling associated with different types of arthritis, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis (pain and stiffness in the backbone). On the other hand, Rabeprazole belongs to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) that help reduce the excess amount of stomach acid and bile produced. Aceclofenac has been reported to cause gastric discomfort and acidity. Hence, it is combined with Rabeprazole, a medicine that reduces the amount of acid made by the stomach, thus preventing damage to the stomach. Thus, the combination is superior as it helps alleviate pain with minimal gastric irritation caused due to Aceclofenac alone. Caterpil Capsule 10's is also used to relieve toothache, lower back, ear, and throat pain.
