About Cerebolin-P Tablet

Cerebolin-P Tablet is used to treat acute stroke. A stroke is a serious, life-threatening medical condition that happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off. Like all organs, the brain needs the oxygen and nutrients provided by blood to function properly. If the supply of blood is restricted or stopped, brain cells begin to die, leading to a stroke.

Cerebolin-P Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Citicoline and Piracetam. Citicoline repairs the neuronal membrane and cholinergic neurons by increasing phosphatidylcholine synthesis and potentiating the production of acetylcholine, respectively. It reduces the build-up of free fatty acids at the site of stroke-induced nerve damage. Piracetam protects the brain and nervous system against shortness of oxygen. It also improves the activity of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine, which helps in communication between brain cells.

You are advised to take Cerebolin-P Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as weight gain, nervousness, diarrhoea, headache, muscle spasms, nausea, and vomiting. You are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience any of these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor before taking Cerebolin-P Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid driving or operating machinery, as Cerebolin-P Tablet can cause drowsiness, sleepiness, and shakiness. Avoid consuming alcohol with Cerebolin-P Tablet as it could lead to increased sleepiness. Cerebolin-P Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and any medications you are taking to rule out any potential side effects or interactions.

Medicinal Benefits

Cerebolin-P Tablet is used to treat acute stroke. Cerebolin-P Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Citicoline and Piracetam. Citicoline repairs the neuronal membrane by increasing the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine. It also repairs the damaged cholinergic neurons by potentiating acetylcholine production and reducing the build-up of free fatty acids at the site of stroke-induced nerve damage. Piracetam protects the brain and nervous system against oxygen deprivation. It also improves the activity of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine, which helps in communication between brain cells. Together, Cerebolin-P Tablet helps treat stroke.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Eat brain-healthy foods: Focus on a balanced diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids (fish, walnuts, flaxseeds), leafy greens, berries, and whole grains to support brain and nerve health.
  • Limit salt and processed foods: Reduce your sodium intake to help control blood pressure, which is crucial for preventing and recovering from a stroke.
  • Stay hydrated: Drink enough water daily, unless advised otherwise by your doctor, to support overall brain function and medication absorption.
  • Avoid high-sugar and high-fat foods: Reduce consumption of sugary snacks, fried foods, and red meats, as these may increase inflammation and slow recovery.
  • Include lean protein and healthy fats: Add lean meats, eggs, legumes, nuts, and olive oil to your meals to support tissue repair and brain cell function.
  • Follow a regular sleep schedule: Aim for 7–9 hours of quality sleep, as it helps the brain recover and supports cognitive function.
  • Engage in light physical activity: After medical clearance, try gentle exercises or rehabilitation activities to improve circulation and prevent muscle stiffness.
  • Manage stress effectively: Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or gentle yoga to reduce stress on the brain.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol: These can interfere with the effectiveness of medication and delay nerve recovery.
  • Take medications as prescribed: Always follow your doctor’s instructions on dosage and timing, and attend follow-up appointments regularly.
