COFENAC GEL is used in the treatment of pain and inflammation of muscles and joints. The detailed uses of COFENAC GEL are as follows:

• Relief of muscle pain: COFENAC GEL helps reduce pain caused by muscle strain, overuse, or mild injuries.
• Treatment of joint inflammation: It reduces swelling, stiffness, and discomfort in joints affected by osteoarthritis or other inflammatory conditions.
• Management of backache: COFENAC GEL provides localised relief from lower or upper back pain.
• Support in sprains and strains: Reduces pain and inflammation due to ligament or muscle injuries.
• Relief of sports injuries: COFENAC GEL is commonly used to treat minor injuries caused by physical exercise.
• Control of soft tissue inflammation: It reduces inflammation in tendons, ligaments, and soft tissues, including tendinitis and bursitis.

• COFENAC GEL is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with tennis elbow (swelling of tendons in the elbow), arthritis (joint pain), scapular inflammation (inflammation in the bursa under the shoulder blade), tendovaginitis (inflammation of the tendon sheath), peritendinitis (inflammation of the tendon), swelling and pain after trauma, and myalgia (muscle pain).
• COFENAC GEL works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make other chemical prostaglandins.
• By blocking the effect of COX enzymes, fewer prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

• One patch to be applied for one day or as advised by your doctor.
• Apply the patch directly onto the affected area of your skin. Make sure the skin is clean, dry, and free from any cuts or irritation before applying the patch. Press it gently to ensure it sticks well.
• Apply immediately after removing the protective covering. Do not cut the patch.
• The patch should be applied to the non-hairy area.

• Physical activity helps in strengthening muscles and relieves joint stiffness. Gentle activities like 20-30 minutes of walking or swimming would be helpful.
• Performing yoga may also help improve joint flexibility and pain management.
• Maintain a healthy weight by performing regular low-strain exercises and eating healthy food.

• De-stress yourself by meditating, reading books, taking a warm bubble bath or listening to soothing music.
• Acupuncture, massage and physical therapy may also be helpful.
• Eat food rich in antioxidants such as berries, spinach, kidney beans, dark chocolate, etc.
• Foods containing flavonoids help in reducing inflammation. These include soy, berries, broccoli, grapes and green tea.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

• Do not use COFENAC GEL if you are allergic to any of its contents.
• Avoid using COFENAC GEL if you are during the perioperative period in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
• COFENAC GEL may increase the risk of a fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not use COFENAC GEL.
• Inform your doctor if you have peptic ulcers, heart surgery, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, asthma, fluid retention, inflammatory bowel disease, kidney or liver problems.
• Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
